We are looking for a lecturer in Economics and Applied Research for our International Business (IB) bachelor programme at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. An important dimension of this position is that you will deliver interactive practical workshops. In these workshops you share the knowledge and experience with your students. As students work to apply the knowledge they gain during the course, you will assess, guide and coach them, in order to facilitate integration of theoretical and practical skills. This position mainly entails:
- Delivering lectures and workshops of Economics and research related modules and projects.
- Innovating and continuously improving the modules together with our team of lecturers.
- Taking part in designing and/or delivering inter-disciplinary modules/projects.
- Coaching students during their internship.
- Coaching and assessing students' graduation theses.
- Mentoring students.
What do we expect from you?
We want you to become successful in this position. When reading through your resume, we would like to read that you have/are:
- A relevant Master’s degree (such as MBA, MSc) or PhD.
- Several years of work experience in an international, professional environment.
- Business language competency in English (C1 level or native).
- Experience in teaching Economics.
- Experience in either teaching business research methods or conducting research.
- Experience in coaching and assessing students’ graduation projects/theses in related areas such as in international trade, finance and investment, FinTech, market research, etc.
- Knowledge of recent developments and global trends in Economics.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group international business school students.
- Flexible, inclusive mindset and learning attitude.
- Motivated, engaged and committed team player.
- Experience at an applied sciences university or business school is preferred.
- Ability to teach other subjects in the field of International Business (such as Finance) is a plus.
- Familiarity with professional products as graduation project is a plus.

This is what you can expect from us
- An employment contract for one year based on 40 hours per week (1,0 FTE), starting from 2 February 2026;
- A salary up between € 4.535,76 and € 6.359,47 gross per month (scale 11) for a full-time work week;
- 8% vacation allowance;
- Guaranteed end-of-year pay of 8,3%.
