Are you a skilled researcher (or researcher in training) with AI and learning technology expertise? Do you have a passion for investigating the impact of AI tools on learning assessments and helping educators develop robust assessment practices? Then we're looking for you!

What will you be doing?
As a member of the Learning Technology & Analytics research group at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), you will work on a research project titled "AI and the Future of Educational Assessments." This project aims to explore the impact of AI-tools like ChatGPT on educational assessment practices. We will focus on studying challenges and opportunities to assessment integrity and developing robust, future-ready assessment practices.

Your research will contribute to developing guidelines and best practices for integrating AI into educational assessments while maintaining assessment integrity.

This position is open internally to faculty members and policy staff of THUAS and external candidates. Your research serves two purposes:

  1. Developing daily educational practices, student guidance, and educational policy within your faculty or department

As part of this role, you will conduct comprehensive research into AI applications in education, from initial literature review through data collection and analysis. You'll design and implement various research instruments, working directly with educators and students to gather insights. Using qualitative and quantitative approaches, you'll analyze the findings and work with the team to develop practical guidelines and policies for AI-integrated assessments. You'll also help share our findings through publications and presentations.

About the Center of Expertise
The Learning Technology & Analytics research group is part of the Center of Expertise Global & Inclusive Learning (GIL). GIL investigates processes to create and justify equity for students and professionals. The lectorate follows the research theme "Engaging Technology," focusing on 'good use of technology' and 'technology for good.'
