The Hague University of Applied Sciences has six Centres of Expertise, each of which conducts research on a different regionally anchored theme. Several research groups operate within these Centres of Expertise.
The importance of digital security has become indispensable for the world we live in. The mission of the Centre of Expertise Cyber Security is to strengthen the cyber resilience of public and private organisations that are themselves less equipped to deal with cyber threats.

Researchers of the Centre of Expertise Digital Operations & Finance enable companies and entrepreneurs to reduce their footprint on space, materials, employees and human beings with the help of digital technology.
Creating and ensuring equal opportunities for students and professionals. At the Centre of Expertise for Global and Inclusive Learning we research what processes would help to achieve this. We’re also looking into the best ways to actively promote inclusive education and an inclusive society.
Together with urban parties, the Centre of Expertise for Governance of Urban Transitions conducts practice-oriented research based on social issues and new forms of governance that reflect the transitions the city is facing.
The Health Innovation Centre of Expertise is researching these and other complex issues around the themes of ‘Prevention through nutrition and exercise’, ‘Inclusive exercise and sport’ and ‘Long-term care, housing and welfare’.
As a driver of sustainable entrepreneurship and living, we conduct practice-oriented research, such as ensuring liveable cities by eliminating CO2 emissions. Together with our external partners, we develop applicable and useful knowledge and tools for the future.
